The Combined Defence Services Examination (CDS) is conducted twice a year by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment into the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. The Notification for the examination is usually released in the months of October and June, and the examinations are conducted in February and November respectively. Only unmarried graduates are eligible to sit for the exam. Successful candidates are admitted into the respective Academies after an interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB).
This year combined services exam will be conducted by Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) on 15th February 2015 for admission in various courses. candidates may apply online till the last date 05.12.2014. Other details are as follows:

Educational Qualification:
- For IMA and Officers' Training Academy, Degree from from a recognized university or equivalent required.
- For Indian Naval Academy, Degree in Engineering from a recognized university/institution is required.
- For Air force Academy, Degree of a recognized university (with physics and mathematics at 10+2 level) or Degree in Engineering required.
Age Limits, sex and marital status:
- For IMA unmarried male candidates born nor earlier than 02 January 1992 and not later than 01 January 1997 only are eligible.
- For Indian Naval Academy unmarried male candidates born nor earlier than 02 January 1992 and not later than 01 January 1997 only are eligible.
- For Air Force Academy age must be within 20-24 years on 01 January 2016.
- For Officers Training Academy (SSC course for men), male candidates born nor earlier than 02 January 1992 and not later than 01 January 1997 only are eligible.
- For Officers Training Academy (SSC women non-technical course), female candidates born nor earlier than 02 January 1992 and not later than 01 January 1997 are eligible.
Note: Candidates below 25 years age must be unmarried.

After submitting online application form candidates have to pay a fee of Rs. 200 either by cash in any SBI bank through challan or net banking facility. SC / ST / Female candidates are exempted from the fee.
